Facebook hacked ? How can you prevent this ?

Has your facebook been hacked ? I do not have a solution to get the account up and running again except for contacting Facebook directly – they do take action fast and recover hacked accounts without delay.

But here’s what you need to do to make sure that you account doesn’t get hacked -

a) Log in to facebook directly by going to www.facebook.com . Do not click on emails received with links. It is better to log in directly and then click on those links. This way you will not need to give your username or password if the link is genuine. This is something everyone should follow for all social networking sites, emails, hosting services, domain registrars etc…

b) Don’t get tempted to click on links pertaining to friendship requests that promote relationships (you know what I mean here). Log in to facebook directly and then click on requests pending on the top right.

One of my friends had his facebook account hacked and the hacker spammed his contacts left right and center apart from stealing his personal information. Since Facebook is something that is as important as email to most, it is best to be careful than to repent later.
